Srimanta Mohanty,Ph.D.

Srimanta has over 18 years of extensive
experience in the field of social policy research,
project management and program evaluation. Srimanta's
professional interest has been in “Demography” , "Development Studies" and
“Statistics”. He has worked nationally and
internationally. Srimanta has participated in a special mission to Sudan with the
International Organization for Migration (IOM) where he was responsible for the implementation of the Monitoring and Tracking activities of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Sudan. He worked as a population research expert at the Anhui University (China).
He has received many awards and honours.
He was a World Health
Organization Fellow at
Peking University.
Srimanta's research work has been in America, Asia and Africa and covers a variety of areas,
including health care, program evaluation, diversity
management, gender issues, IDP issues,demography, labour market issues,
population policy, literacy,
human development indicators, and quality of life
measurement. Srimanta holds a Ph.D. in Population
Studies,
M.A. from the University of
Western Ontario, Master of Law in Population
Sciences from Peking University, Master of Population Studies (MPS) from International Institute for Population Sciences and M.A.(Statistics)
from
Utkal University. |
Srimanta has
served as a mentor, volunteer, actor and researcher.
Srimanta has a strong belief in the importance of making
data based strategic decisions and policies. In his
work, Srimanta attempts to set potential targets for the
various dimensions of
quality of life indicators. He believes indicators
are initial guideposts for development planning.
